MILAN - Giorgio Armani goes urban for next winter.
According to the designer's fashion notes, there is "not a trace of an imaginary life among trees and meadows" in the new second line Emporio menswear collection presented at the Armani headquarters Sunday.
Unlike his colleagues, who promise a colourful winter 2011-2012, Armani sticks to city greys and blacks lightened up by camel in his latest collection, the most minimalist in many a season.
Extra-long coats, as soft and smooth as a robe, were the leitmotif of the show. The accent next season is on the collar, which is asymmetric and standup, with an extra flap to protect against the cold.
